DARLINGTON Castlebeck Health Care Assistants X2 HOLLYHURST HOSPITAL, DARLINGTON, COUNTY DURHAM 40 Hours per week £14,731 – £17,776 per annum Hollyhurst in Darlington is a 28 bed independent hospital which provides assessment and intervention for men and women who have a learning disability, complex needs with or without an associated mental illness. We are recruiting two Health Care Assistants looking for a new challenge. You will be committed, enthusiastic, flexible and have excellent communication skills. We are looking for passionate people to make a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities. As a HCA you will play a vital role in the development of the service user’s skills and communications. You will sometimes be the key person who helps encourage and assist the service users to do the things they want to do in life.You will help devise and implement programmes to encourage more self-help and develop new ways of helping service users cope with life events. The service user is at the centre of what we do and you will be part of the team trusted to listen to and support their wishes. The skill support you offer service users will also include; general and social skills, accessing community leisure and educational facilities and support to obtain and support with employment as well as day to day needs. This is an ideal opportunity for an innovative and dedicated individual to be part of an organisation where health care and nursing are valued and working in partnership with people who use our services and their families is paramount.Similar experience will be advantageous but not essential, you will preferably be qualified or willing to undertake Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 and/or Level 3 (or equivalent e.g. NVQ).
