DEMOCRACY;A CONTROVERSIAL IDEAOLOGY.(A CASE OF EGYPT) Sometime, when I see people agitating for democracy, most especially in the arab and sub sahara Africa,I feel disturbed, and continue to question my self on wether "DEMOCRACY"is the best form of government as argued by western philosophers, most especially francis fukuyama, whose primary concern was the historical nature and understanding of different forms of gov,t in his book"the last man and the end of history"fukuyama argued that, the best form of gov,t is democracy. My argument and concern today is that, democratic process in most cases became the origin and creation of the deepening conflict, not only in Africa, but as well as arab and some part of Asia. For many decades egyptians were searching and agitating for democracy, but not quite long after its attainment, international conspiracy and political differences led to the overthrown of the duly elected president"Morsi"creating more division and inconsistent argument even from the father of democracy itself"USA"which is still conteplating on "A coup or not". Considering the fact that, democratic process has created more division and led to the deaths of thousands of people and destroy billions of dollars worth properties in NIGERIA,KENYA,IVORY COAST,ZIMBABWE,EGYPT,MALI,TUNISIA,BANGLADESH.etc.How can I be convinced that such an ideology is the best form of gov,t.It should be noted that my state Nigeria is still recovering from the democratic episode of 2011 elections,as well as geting prepare for 2015 elections. My big question is that, for how long will/most we continue to live in perpetua fear and chaotic nature of democratic inconvenience?.Time is running out day,we most come together as people first before we realise our potentials as an agent of change in our various states.
