DEVOTIONAL - Unclean Lips, Heart Sick. Woe is me: then I said! For I am lost; I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Isaiah 6:5. Uzziah was a good king, obedient to the laws of the Lord. His death caused much grief in Judea. It was in this historical context that Isaiah goes to the Temple and receive the vocation given by Jehovah to have a vision of the glory and holiness of the Lord. Impressed with the revelation that he was witnessing, Isaiah looked at themselves and saw the contrast: So I said - Alas! Im lost! For my lips are unclean and I live among a people who also have unclean lips. And with my own eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty (Isaiah 6:5). Our response as Christians, when we compare ourselves with the holy and mighty love of God, should be equal to that of Isaiah - Alas!. The great tragedy lies in our reaction insensitivity. It seems that we are so accustomed to the impurity of our lips that our eyes do not cry and our hearts do not lie in ashes. Nor consequently bothers us worldliness prevalent among our people. The message of the Lord through Isaiah, is destined for me. It is intended for our churches. To grace the coals from the altar of the Lord still within reach. Remain ready to touch our lips. To cure our spiritual ills. To bring health to our hearts as children of God. The Lord continues to challenge us: To whom I send? The Lord submit to the power of their coals, it happens to the send to me ... WITH LOVE JESUS CHRIST!
