Day 26 Left the colourful, friendly and very Latin Sardinian Island capital of Cagliari yesterday for an exhilarating and sometimes hairy down wind sail in 45, gusting to almost 50 knot north westerly winds heading south east along the coast for almost 30 nautical miles to Villasimius on the southern most point of Sardinia. This stunning mediterranean island continues to amaze me, the people are warm and friendly, it has wonderful scenery and to die for Caribbean like beaches with crystal clear waters to soothe a travel weary body. Plan to stay a couple of days and then continue sailing west to Palermo, the capital of Sicily to investigate if the Mafia are still in evidence.
