Dear Colleagues, I hope that this email finds you all well and winding down from an amazing summer and enjoying the cool, crisp breezes of fall! I can’t believe that summer came and went as quickly as it did, however, it is time to refocus before the holidays. There are several exciting events scheduled in the near future and I would like to review the details with you below: As you all know we had to cancel the last Journal Club on July 11th due to a lack of participation, but we are going to redeem ourselves on October 10th! We are scheduled to meet at Cioppino (Strip District) located at 2350 Railroad Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 with Journal Club commencing promptly at 6:30pm. We still need volunteers to present articles! Thus, if you have not yet had the opportunity to pick an article and present we would greatly appreciate your help. Please take a moment to review the articles found on the new and improved PDPA website at padermpa.org under the Journal Club link on the left. If you see an article from the table of contents that you would like to present please notify myself or Jil ASAP so that we can get the chosen articles posted for other members to access and read. If you’ve not yet had a chance to check out the website please do so now! It is greatly improved with a new look and lots of great Members Only content. Jil, as always, has put a lot of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears into continually improving our organization and promoting professional development of Derm PAs…..THANK YOU JIL!!! Also, while visiting our new homepage please take this opportunity to click under the Member Signup tab on the left to join or renew your membership. Judy Kennedy from PharmaDerm has so kindly put together a Veregen speaker’s presentation with Dr. Christopher Nelson from the University of South Florida on Thursday, November 7th, at the Capitol Grille located at 301 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 at 6:30pm. Please see attached invitation for RSVP information below and please respond ASAP as Judy is trying to get a preliminary head count to help her finalize room choice. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at both of these events. Please mark your calendars now and come out and have a great evening with your friends and colleagues and support the PDPA! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank both Jenene Hunkele and Judy Kennedy for their continued support of PAs and the PDPA! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact myself or Jil. Thanks and I hope to see all of you in the near future! Warmest regards, Matthew D.
