Dear Head Teacher, I recently received a letter explaining the penalty of £60 if my child is taken out of school during term time and the impact this has on a pupil’s attainment. I would therefore like to remind you that this should work both ways. As you have informed me that my child is unable to attend school on 1st October due to teachers being away from school, I have to take measures to also give you a penalty of £60. If this is not paid within 21 days, the fine will increase to £120. I’m sure you understand what the impact of the strike will have on my child. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and all parents to thank you in anticipation of your full support and understanding of this matter which has been determined by me.
