Dear Justice For Ernest Duenez Jr. , I have been having meltdowns since Oscar Grants memorial because I thought it was his 5th - and then it hit me...NO its his 6th and that means it is gonna be the 4th year you have been gone. NO NO NO, in my head I think its 2 yrs or 3 yrs. How we have been robbed of time in this fight for justice. I dont want it to be 4, cause then it will be 5. 4 years and no justice, 4 years of being in the streets and screaming to the world, 4 years of John Moody being free....and my heart hurts and I am tired. But then I think about you, not the fight or the movement or john moody, but YOU....the reason I do what I do, who you were and are to me, how I know if it was the last thing you did, you would NEVER allow someone to hurt me the way that he hurt you. I remember our last words, our last hugs and your smile, your voice, you saying I got you - I cant give up, I must push on...not because of who I am, but because of who YOU are. Loving, Kind, Passionate, Hot Tempered, Funny, Caring, even when you were a jerk, I couldnt really be mad at you. I love you, I miss you, your spirit lives on in my fight for you. John Moody will regret the day he took your life and they will all regret the days they denied us justice. Your spirit will not let me rest, will not let me stop....relentless with no apologies.
