Dear Randall, While Wisconsin families and businesses are working harder than ever, helping to power our economic recovery and creating jobs, far too many Americans are still struggling everyday just to get by. The gap between rich and poor Americans is as wide as it has been in nearly a century. Since 2008, 95 percent of income gains have gone to the top 1 percent of income earners, meanwhile middle class earnings have slowly declined. And unless we act now to close the gap, things are only going to get worse. Tell Congress not to leave the middle class behind. Sign the petition today. Income inequality is one of the most important issues facing our country today. But right now, Congress is not doing enough to make sure that all Americans are getting a fair shake and a fair shot at getting ahead. We need to reward hard work by raising the minimum wage so an honest day’s work pays more. And we need to make sure that everyone pays their fair share by passing the Buffet Rule so that we can invest in growing the middle class from the bottom up and the middle out. And, in the Senate, I’m committed to doing just that. The promise of the American Dream is that, if you work hard, you’ll be able to get ahead -- and Wisconsin families shouldnt have to settle for anything less.
