Dear St Johns High School, Today Jake finished his freshman year. A year that brought great new friends, a totally new approach to learning and a brotherhood that he treasures. I watched him shake hands and chest pump some friends upon leaving and with a smile on his face, one of complete satisfaction, he left campus until September. Thank you for a blessed year with caring teachers who offered more than just extra help. Teachers who brought out the best in Jake and who wanted him to succeed. Thank you for the baseball team especially the Seniors and Juniors who welcomed him wholeheartedly and made him their brother after being called up. Thank you to his religion class and Mr Nicholson who made him ask questions and sparked conversations in our household about Christian and Jewish similarities and differences. Thank you for a boy who is turning into a man, and all you do to nurture that growth. What a year!
