Dear St. Lukes family, On Sunday the 30th of November we celebrate the Feast of St. Andrew, patron saint of Scotland and the first Sunday in Advent. We will also celebrate the Kirkin o the Tartans (Scottish for the blessing of family and clan tartans and the blessing for those that claim them). We are honored to once again have the Jefferson Pipe Band participate in the Mass and the festivities to follow thanks to our own Bob and Molly Skinner. After the Mass, there will be a full Scottish lunch of Haggis (dont worry! this is the American version more closely related to our own dear meat loaf). Neeps n tatties (wonderful root vegetables) soda bread, green salad and for desert; Tipsy Laird (the Scottish version of the English Trifle) and beverages courtesy of of our own Kerry Sheppard, Gail Acheson and Grace Lawrence. There will also be a whisky tasting competition (What Scottish event would be complete without it?). Bring the whole family for a grand celebration of the Mass, pipes and drums, wonderful Celtic fair, food and fellowship, and dont forrrrrget your tartan!! Slainte! and God speed *;) winking Fr. Scott
