Dear Vendors, I received some not so good news that will require - TopicsExpress

Dear Vendors, I received some not so good news that will require major surgery for me, a 5 hour procedure. I will be out the month of January completely. I am going to ask, for any arbitration and also to bring his role forward in this concept, that my wonderful friend Brad Bickel step in for me during my absence if any of you have questions about the Indiana Vendor Guild from the founders standpoint. I know that many of you have leaned on me. You have perhaps seen abrupt moments. I have not been feeling well. Beyond that, to me, it is a travesty to know that any person that calls him or herself, a vendor would take money or product from any of our vendors and not deliver on that promise. With promoters, we know some really hard working promoters in the industry. We know that the economy has watered down attendance at shows. We are more interested in promoters who take your money and dont deliver. I am coming back in February to kick some major butt, so to speak, to any promoter or promoter/vendor who accepts money from our vendors and does not refund them for cancelled or changed venues. I am not an attorney but I did take business contract law courses and I have a lot of connections, a neighbor in downtown who IS an attorney and has been in my shop and is very available to me and I know enough to make a persons life very uncomfortable if I find out that he or she is stealing money from one of my vendors. This guild was started on the premise of strength in numbers. We have strength in numbers. Join us by boycotting the events of any promoter who takes money, cancels venues and basically, steals from our vendors. Dont take that chance for yourself. Please dont cross the picket line. This is how we will tell Indiana that if a promoter gives a venue, the venue better be right there. Good promoters are taking a beating because everyone wants to be a promoter are springing up out of the woodwork and building distrust by unethical business practices. Yesterday I facilitated yet another issue. A vendor who had a store was holding on to $980 of another vendors product and being very disrespectful and evasive about returning that property to the owner vendor. The owner vendor (the owner of the $980 product) was sweet, kind and had been the most patient she could be. She contacted me. I went in there, rattled it up and well, most dont understand my direct ways to get justice, but I did visually see very abusive behavior from the vendor whom I allege was in the wrong. She got her husband involved to try to fight her battle that had absolutely no validity. I shook those chains and rattled the person withholding....Im pleased to say that Kim got her $980 of product back. I so do not like going there to that level of abruptness but let me make it very clear. If you steal from one of my vendors on this group, I will turn the heat up so high that you wont know what hit you. If you give a venue, and you cancel it, youd better return the money to the vendor if you have decided you dont want to be a promoter afterwards. If you do a venue and you decide to move it to a hidden back alley to save money, youd better refund the vendor. There IS strength in numbers. I am not affiliated with Keller and Keller, but the Indiana Vendor Guild is here and we truly mean business when we say trade honestly! Thanks to Krista for bearing with me this year and all of you. Did you get ripped off? Let me help you. I have a high rate of success. few people go to where I do to assure a refund. If you are unable to get resolution, I consider it an art form. We can help. I will be asking however, as I do spend a lot of time doing this, please consider a donation of a Starbucks card to me if I get your situation settled. I am addicted to Oprah Chai tea, very hot. Thanks and I hope you all sell tons this holiday season! Lillian..founder
