Dearest FB friends It has been an interesting few months since going into the hospital June 16th. I am forever grateful & I thank you ALL for your well wishes & for your support. I have come to realize that throughout my lifetime I seem unable to have things happen just halfass & this go round is no different. Upon entering the hospital in June they first thought I was having a heart attack causing a LOT of fluid around my heart & lungs. It was then determined that I had a rather rare & severe bacterial infection. It didnt stop there ... I was double whammied as they also detected a cloudy area on my lower left lung. This did not reduce with antibiotics.. it grew Ive enjoyed? Xrays, CT Scans, a PET-CT Scan, a brain MRI (torture!) a Bronchosopy (more torture!) ,& even a breathing test. Appts with this doc & that doc. The result...I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, a form of lung cancer. For someone that is very content to stay at home within the quiet confines of country life all these trips to town are a bit agonizing lol For now I dont feel the least bit sick, just short of breath during any exertion. I am still undecided as to whether I will offer my remaining mares up for sale. I have no immediate plans to sell my wonderful stallion Dun It OK. He will be standing the 2015 season at McBrides Quarter Horses. IF things change & it is found necessary to completely disperse then my daughter Meghann will take the reins & make any necessary decisions. (all current contracts WILL BE honored) At this point Im on oxygen much of the day & at night so surgery is not an option. The cancer has crossed over to a lymph node on the right side of my neck. It has been rated at a stage 3B because of this. I refuse to curl up in a corner & cry. There is always HOPE. We all know how precious & how short life can be. The next step is an appt with an Oncologist at the Cancer Center & then..................... On to my next journey :)
