Death toll in Okhaldhunga bus fall rises to 10 OKHALDHUNGA: The death toll in the Okhaldhunga bus fallhas risen to 10 after seven people succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment. Three victims were killed on the spot yesterday while the others died during the course of treatment at different places. A passenger bus, with pilgrims on board, was heading to sacred Halensi of Khotang district when it met with the fatal accident at Sokmatar, Thakle of Okhaldhunga district at around 4 pm yesterday. Nine of the injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Katari of Udayapur, 23 in Biratnagar and 24 in the Capital. Though police said a total of 43 people were either injured or killed in the accident, the number of casualties is more than that in the police record. Ramesh Giri, who is said to be in his early 40s, of Jhangajholi of Sindhuli, was rushed to Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar where he breathed his last this morning. Likewise, Sabitri Giri (61) died at B&B Hospital, Lalitpur, and Maniraj Giri at Community Hospital, Katari. Other victims are identified as Prabin Rai of Bahunedanda, Khotang, Anisha Giri Arjun Adhikari and Poornima Shrestha.
