Decoding the media - moderates. Beware of this term. When we hear about the moderates in the mid-east, keep in mind its a relative term. If you only blast people by AK-47 firing squad, instead of burying them in sand and throwing stones at their heads...you are called, moderate. When we are dealing with multiple sets of lunatics, I dont care who is the most moderate. They all need to stop wasting our oxygen. The word I miss, and used to hear in place of moderates, was secular. A secular government in the mid east is one that doesnt demand its citizens submit to Islamic or any other religious law. When is the last time we gave serious support to anyone trying to form a secular government? What kind of freedom do we export, when the people we are liberating have no choice about what they believe, and what faith they will practice? The original settlers to our own country were looking for freedom from religious persecution. How come we offer this to nobody nowadays when we bring them freedom? Instead we want them to be happy with whatever so-called moderates, we leave in charge. Regardless of their brand of Islamic oppression and victimization of women. I guess they should be happy with a polite, Call us in a decade when enough of you die, so we can come blow the place up and occupy again. There are no more secular governments in the middle east that arent under attack. When the US talks about helping moderate forces in the mid-east, what they are applying is our election time logic to foreign policy. Instead of an uninformed American picking the lesser of two evils at the ballot box, our leaders pick the least evil Jihadists to team up with. Sickening.
