Destiny 21 years ago tomorrow Marty and I walked in here to begin a journey of a lifetime. We had no idea what kind of valleys or what kind of sorrows or mountain top experiences we would face along the way or what kind of blessings we would encounter along our way to bring us into the plans that God had for us. The Lord has brought me thru many trials and temptations, many heartaches and loses, and thru many blessings and much joy. There’s been joy unspeakable and full of God’s glory when we saw souls come into the Kingdom of God! There’s also been sorrow and grief so heavy that I didn’t think I could live and bear it. When Marty passed away the grief was so smothering I thought I was dying. If it hadn’t been for my children and my family and my church family I have no idea where I would be today~ I know that God in His mercy brought us to Faith Covenant Church as part of a bigger plan than neither Marty nor I could have dreamed about. We’ve had many people come thru our church doors. Some came to stay. Others came and left. Being a Pastor is not an easy job at all. In fact it’s a very demanding job. You are on call 24 hours a day. Sometimes people want you to wave some kind of a magic wand and make everything all right and when you can’t do it they get upset and leave. There has been great joy when we see souls being saved and set free. There is great sorrow when we see people leave because they get angry or upset because they can’t control the pastor or others in the church. Over the past 21 years we’ve rejoiced when there’s been a wedding and we see the love of the couples and the love of the Lord in their lives. We’ve rejoiced when a new baby is born and the parents bring them and have them dedicated to the Lord. We’ve also set with families as they set by the bedside of their loved ones as they closed their eyes in death. We’ve been to the funeral home with them to give them strength and support as they do the things they have to do. We’ve went to the bars and literally pulled them out and took them home and they have puked on us and passed out on us. We’ve went to the hospitals and prayed with people’s families while they were dying and led them to the knowledge of the saving grace of God and see them accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and then close their eyes in death. We’ve cried and supported each other thru the darkness hours of their lives. And we’ve rejoiced with each other in times of their blessings. The last of November I prayed and asked the Lord to give us souls for His kingdom! I said Father God in 2013 give us at least a soul a week for your glory! We had 35 weeks in a row that we had people being saved and set free in the name of Jesus!! We just had Bible School last week and we had 10 children that gave their hearts to the Lord!!!! That’s what it’s all about church!!!! Winning the lost at any cost!!! Sometimes pastors wonder if they are making a difference in anyone’s life. I pray and ask the Lord to give the message that he wants our church to hear! I say Father God use me! Use my voice! Let my words be Your Words! Let Your Love flow thru me to your children! I love you church! I never want to lead you astray! Because one of these days I want to stroll over heaven with you~ I pray for those that have left that the devil won’t steal them and that they will find a church where they can grow and be set free. I praise God for bringing me into the plan he has for me! Plans to bless me and not curse me! Plans to give me a good future full of hope! We are all on the journey of life! Where is the road that you are on leading you?
