Did we break the record @ INDAKAN NG MGA ESTUDYANTE SA QUEZON CITY? Close to 40,000 students from public secondary schools in Quezon City marched from Quezon Memorial Circle and other parts of the city for to the Amoranto Sports Complex Velodrome where they showcased their talents in dance and in playing drums and lyres on Sunday morning Among the schools represented were San Bartolome High School. Novaliches High School, Ramon Magsaysay High School and Quezon City High School. Dubbed as “Indakan ng mga Estudyante sa QC,” the students and teachers waved their “bilao” (round-shaped baskets) as part of celebrations marking the city’s 75th founding anniversary. In “Indakan ng mga Estudyante sa QC,” the street dance one of the spectacles organized by the city government can be another bid of the city to enter the Guinness World Record. “The students’ street dancing this Sunday is also a good event that we could try for the Guinness World Record, where our city may be known,” QC officials said in a press statement. Last Sunday, an estimated 15,000 dancing aficionados from the city’s six districts braved the heavy rains that could have easily surpassed the record of 6,671 Zumba participants set at the People’s Plaza at Necklace Road in Hyderabad, India on Sept. 15, 2012 if not for some technicalities.
