Did you know? 50,000 people marched in London yesterday, starting at Broadcasting House and ending at Parliament Square, against the cruelty and chaos of the Department For Work and Pensions: people with Parkinsons, muscular dystrophy, terminal cancer waiting over a year for decisions on ESA, a quarter of a million people waiting over 6 months for PIP decisions (and that has to date been rolled out only to selected easiest cases in one area), Macmillan Cancer charity finding that 1/3rd of cancer patients cant afford to keep their room warm enough to stay well. And who reported this march? Funny you should ask - just the Guardian website (mainly cos there was a celeb there), Channel 4 News and, uh, Russia Today. Not the BBC, oddly enough - they found a lone Scot in Brazil who cheered a goal against England but couldnt find 50,000 people on their own doorstep.
