Died on this date: CHESTER D. ANDERSON quickly rose from the position of errand boy to that of secretary and manager of the Soward-Anderson Company, one of the principal music businesses of Dayton. Mr. Anderson was born in Salem, Ohio on April 17, 1885. He first worked with John A. Fetterly, a piano dealer in which he acquired the craft of piano tuning. He then went into sales in Spokane, WA for the piano house of Sherman, Clay & Co. but returned to Dayton to work for Mr. Fetterly, but this time as a salesman. After some time he joined the big music house of Rudolph Wurlitzer and for eight years was identified as a manager there. In 1918, Mr. Anderson joined the Soward Music Company becoming treasurer and manager of that business. Chester D. Anderson passed away on April 4, 1960 at the age of 74. He is located in Section 122 Lot 88.
