Distinguished Speakers on Autism Series 2014 to 2015 schedule The Distinguished Speakers in Autism Series is organised by Dr Elizabeth Milne, Dr Richard Smith and the Sheffield Autism Research Lab. Monday 10th November 2014, 3 – 5 pm Alison Debenham “A Different Experience: Stories of an AS woman” Psychology Lecture Theatre, Department of Psychology, University of Sheffield. * * * * * * * * Friday 16th January 2015, 3 – 5 pm † Professor Simon Baron-Cohen Director of the Autism Research Centre, University of Cambridge “Why is autism more common in males?” Firth Hall, Firth Court, University of Sheffield * * * * * * * * Monday 23rd March, 2015, 3 – 5 pm Dr Emily Jones Research Fellow, Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, Birkbeck College, University of London “Identifying Autism: Early signs, early intervention, and early brain development” Psychology Lecture Theatre, Department of Psychology, University of Sheffield * * * * * * * * All talks are free and open to all. Each talk will last for about 1 hour and will be followed by optional refreshments. The department of Psychology is located on the corner of Western Bank and Northumberland Road (S10 2TN). It is next to the Weston Park Museum. †Due to expected high demand for the talk on the 16th January this will take place in a different location. It will be in Firth Hall in Firth Court at the University of Sheffield. Tickets will be required for this event only.
