Do you have problems praying? Even the disciples did! One of them came to Jesus and asked him to teach them to pray. You would think, that they of all men, knew how to pray. But, they wanted to be able to pray like Jesus did and had the courage to ask Him to teach them. Jesus was not upset for them to ask and He shared with them how to pray. These men, I am sure had heard many of Jesuss prayers and could have repeated some of His prayers, but, they did not want to just repeat his words, they wanted to be able to share there own prayers that would come from the heart. This showed that the disciples could and would humble themselves before Him and wanted His words to encourage them. Do you think we would be better off to ask Him to show us how to pray also? Do you think we could humble ourselves in the same way? You know, sometimes we get so wound up in the world today and say a quick prayer and forget to be honest with ourselves, and God, and then we miss blessings for others and our self because we have failed to communicate properly in our prayers. We do not have to pray like a Preacher or Bible scholar or even a professor! We have to pray straight from the heart and we must let the Lord lead our way. Jesus shared with the disciples this prayer that they could pray and if we will read it several times and look at the message in it, we will find that it will build up our prayer time and cover many challenges and attacks that we face daily. LUKE 11:2-4 When ye pray, say, Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread, And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every on that is indebted to us, And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen and God Bless You
