Do you make conscious TENNIS DECISIONS when you play tennis? - TopicsExpress

Do you make conscious TENNIS DECISIONS when you play tennis? Decisions about what kind of shot to hit back? If not, then you can improve your tennis results dramatically by making your tennis decisions conscious ones during your matches! Much of tennis success comes down to tennis decisions. By practicing making decisions with each shot, your results will improve! Feisal Hassan (USTA Master Pro) simplifies the analysis for making only the right tennis decision every time. A decision is based on 3 things: One: What is My Position? Two: Can I hit this shot and be balanced? Three: Will the ball be in my strike zone when I hit it? Hit an Offensive Shot only if all 3 are positive: if you are inside the baseline (position), are in perfect balance to hit the shot, and you will be able to hit the ball within your strike zone (so in area between knees and shoulders). If you only have 2 of the three things going for you, then you hit a neutral shot. If just 1 thing (example- behind baseline and off balance so only have strike zone), then hit a defensive shot. May sound difficult, but with just a little practice, your body will start making these right decisions for you automatically! Here is his video - pretty long (30 minutes) but very helpful to get us all making the right tennis decisions more often!! youtube/watch?v=eG_VpzglCRY
