Does anyone have any information about the Parahaiba Phoenician - TopicsExpress

Does anyone have any information about the Parahaiba Phoenician inscription? It has been found in Brazil near the Atlantic coast around 1860s. Although the original engraving is believed to be lost, a copy of the inscription survived and its translation by C.H Gordon clearly attests its origin to Phoenicians from Sidon who have been separated from their fellows during a storm while they were circumnavigating Africa, they initially embarked from Ezion-Geber. The lost ship eventually drifted along the coasts of Brazil which is called in the inscription the land of mountains. In total 12 men and 3 women made their way there. In the absence of the original stone engraving its difficult to cross check the authenticity of the copy. Maybe someone should contact the direction of Rios Museum in order to investigate... This might hold the key to the ultimate question has the phoenicians really reach America 2000 years before Columbus?
