✽ Donnas Response to our Weekly Question ✽ Drinking Milk Kefir — Tip Number 2: Follow the Food Combining Rules when Drinking Milk Kefir. Milk Kefir is a protein/fat and follows the food combining rules for digesting a PROTEIN/FAT. Like fruit it’s best to eat it on an empty stomach, never with animal protein, but it’s fine to combine it with other protein fats like avocado or a small handful of soaked and well-chewed nuts and seeds. Dairy combines well with acid fruits. How could you combine it with an avocado or a protein fat? Just whip together the milk kefir with some avocado, lemon juice, walnut or pumpkinseed oil and fresh or dried herbs to make a great salad dressing. Sprinkle a few soaked nuts over the top of your salad when you serve it. For some dairy is a constipating but a little bit tossed into a salad of veggies and mixed greens is usually no problem. The salad has a lot of fiber and negates this dehydrating, constipating effect.
