Dumping Ice or not, its about time we start discussing the disease. People you know are hit with everything; from cancer, which has taken family and friends from me, Parkinsons disease, Muscular Dystrophy, etc all of which have and still spend time in the spotlight. ALS has been out there, since 1869, most only have heard about it and have never seen or felt its effects on someone you care for. An average of 15 people each day – or more than 5,600 people annually – are diagnosed with the disease. Though not a stagger number like Parkisons or cancer, its still significant. Famed scientist Stephen Hawking, 72, was diagnosed with the disease in 1963. Personally, the ice bucket was fun, it didnt make me start giving though. See, I have been ponying up my cash for a while, so I knew I was doing my part. What have you been doing?
