During the early morning hours of August 10, 2014, we had a rash - TopicsExpress

During the early morning hours of August 10, 2014, we had a rash of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the area of the 100-300 blocks of Metairie Lawn Drive, as well as the 100-300 blocks of Labarre Road, all in Metairie. We are also investigating several other vehicle burglaries in that same general area. It has been determined that all of the vehicle burglarized were left unlocked. Investigators believe that a 2013 Honda Accord, 2 door, black in color, bearing LA license WWZ539, which was stolen from the 2600 block of Vivian Street is believed to be connected with the suspects who committed the vehicle burglaries. This vehicle has yet to be recovered, however it was detected on one of our ALPR West Bank cameras on the morning of the incident. Burglary detectives have received a number of videos from residents in the area where these incidents occurred and are reviewing them at this time. What is very concerning to us, is the fact that one of the suspects can be seen brandishing a semi-auto handgun and pointing the weapon at the residence while the other suspects are burglarizing the vehicles. Anyone with information in this investigation, or who may be able to identify the suspects involved, is asked to contact our Burglary/Theft Section at 504-364-5300 four CRIMESTOPPERS. Colonel John N. Fortunato Commander, Public Information Office
