ENGAGING THE PUBLIC WITH YOUR RESEARCH Monday 16 September, 9:30am-12:30pm Location TBC Good public engagement can have a huge impact on what you do. Experienced researchers have reported improvements in research quality, development of new skills and enhanced creativity through seeing their work in a new light. For the public it can help them develop their knowledge and understanding, raise aspirations and provide opportunities for people with valuable perspectives to engage with what you are doing. Using a mixture of group work, discussion, presentations and case studies, this half day course will: explain what public engagement (PE) is; identify the value of PE to you and your work; look at how you can identify your audience and build your network; show the difference you are making through evaluation approaches.
