EXCLUSIVE OPEN DAY OPPORTUNITY ELS have secured an exclusive open day NEXT WEDNESDAY (22nd January) at the ONLY French international law firm with offices in London: Gide Loyrette Nouel. This is a fantastic opportunity for any European law student to get an insight into a major European Law firm, and particularly for those on the French Law strand. This is sure to be a unique event, and will help you stand out from the crowd in applications! The open day will include lunch with trainees, lawyers, graduate recruitment and HR, an introduction to the firm, a session on how to stand out from the crowd, an office tour and meeting with some of their lawyers, and a Q&A drinks reception with trainees and lawyers! Travel expenses will also be fully reimbursed. Although the firm recognises a basic level of French speaking as a major asset, it is not a necessary requirement for anyone making an application. Gide are very interested in hearing from YOU, member of ELS (we are the only undergraduate society they sponsor)! TO ATTEND, please send an email with your name, course, level of French (GCSE, A Level, degree or native) to careers@warwickeuropeanlaw by midnight THIS FRIDAY. Please also attach your CV - this is purely for the purposes of a skills session on the day wherein it will be anonymised. Here is some information on the firm, for those of you who do not know much about it: Gide is an international French law firm with 19 offices in 15 countries. Gide London is the hub of the English law practice, where we specialise in international finance and dispute resolution. The training contract programme is a key element of the role we have of supporting the English law practices in the firms network, so we are in the unique position of being able to offer two secondments abroad. If you are keen to travel and try new things as part of your training contract, we are interested in meeting you. You dont need to speak French, but it is becoming increasingly important in the work that we do so we are encouraging our trainees to learn. Because of our finance focus, you will need to be happy specialising early in your career. In return, you will learn quickly and become part of our transaction teams, working closely with senior lawyers. Our trainees and lawyers will be on hand at the open afternoon to explain exactly how our training experience is different from other City firms. Why not come along to find out more?
