Edo PDP chieftain admonishes members on elections As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reorder its strategy in Edo State ahead of 2015 elections, a chieftain of the party, Henry Omorodion, has called on members of the party in the state to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise of the party so as to have the numerical strength to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state in the forthcoming general elections. Omorodion, who also is the Odunanoba of Benin Kingdom and a business mogul, stressed the need for the party to be prepared for the elections, saying the party has all it takes to defeat the APC in the state if adequate preparations are made for the election. Speaking through a statement, the Benin Chief said: “it was because we believe that we have to redouble our efforts that some of us felt concerned when some youths in the Niger Delta said they were not going to register in the party unless government provides jobs for them. Being somebody in the oil industry, I provided about 250 jobs for our youths in the Niger Delta so that they will know that the PDP can create jobs. “In Edo State, there is no doubt that the PDP has suffered unduly in the hands of the APC and this is the time to re-strategise and for supporters to know that you have to be a registered member of the party to run for election and to be able to galvanise your supporters. “Our party leaders are doing all they could to strengthen the power, so it is now left for the supporters to take advantage of the conducive environment already created by the leadership of the party to work for the party in the forthcoming elections,” it stated.
