Ekiti PDP settles for a consensus candidate Indications emerged today (Sunday) that the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun the search for a consensus party flagbearer in the June governorship election in the state. Thus, ruling out the possibility of primaries. Sources close to the party said the governorship aspirants held a meeting with the Board of Trustee (BOT) of the party in the South West on Saturday night. The BOT asked the aspirants to go back and bring a consensus candidate. The aspirants, it was gathered, went back with a promise to send the name of the consensus candidate to the BOT by Tuesday. They also pledged to work together with the consensus candidate.
