Everytime I read Seaworlds response, I get a colossal feeling of them missing the point. No one has said they captured new whales and no one said trainers blatantly abuse the animals. However the continued captivity and requirements of a breeding program IS abuse. These are highly intelligent beings who range thousands of miles and live in family groups their whole lives! They deeply morn their dead and their lost members. Separating a calf from the mother even two years later is still going against the entire culture of this species. This needs to end. Its not right and there is no justification for it that isnt so full of holes it almost becomes laughable.
