Exactly a year ago, 2 folding bike riders here in San Fernando - TopicsExpress

Exactly a year ago, 2 folding bike riders here in San Fernando forged the first TNT Ride... What is TNT? It was aptly called the Tuesday Night Thunder and for some reason I had to associate an event with a wrestling pay per view event being a wrestling fan... So why not in biking? This inaugural TNT would be the birth of TROPA, now known within the Kapampangan Mt Bikers Network as the Tuklip Riders of Pampanga... The first folding bikers group in the province to make its presence felt in the local biking scene... TROPA perfectly describes what this group was all about, it was a camaraderie of folding bike riders which fostered respect and social awareness.... TROPA means buddies for life... Thanks to co-founder Dei Guintos wife, whom we give credit to our name, TROPA stuck like glue in all of us... It was gravity in every sense... A third member and installment to complete the Administrators of the group, Ronald Dizon would later use his artistry to put a face on TROPA, thus, the now well-known Nutshell Rider Logo you see in every TROPA folding bike.... Together, we worked as a team to slowly gather the very humble, jolly, and kind-hearted members of the group which currently has about 30 active members and some 100 online group members... With quality membership rising, TROPA would later move its TNT to a more convenient Thursday scheduled ride which we now call the Thursday Night Thunder (TNT) Ride.... Little did anyone know that the TNT was inspired by the now defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW) wrestling program Thursday Night Thunder as opposed to WWEs Thursday Night Smackdown... A weekend, sometimes short and sometimes long ride, Sunday All-stars is also held, promoting our advocacies in mind... In the succeeding months, TROPA kicked-off its epic journey rides in promoting folding bikes and their core advocacies on social awareness on healthy lifestyle, bike to work, bike safety, bike lanes, bike for the environment, and other social relevant issues as well... TROPA also forged partnership with the Tiklop Society of the Philippines, one of the first well-known folding bikers group in the country, which also shares the same advocacies as TROPA... We went out to ride to enjoy each others company, but that enjoyment was also a venue for us to send out the core messages of our advocacy and what we want to do to make this planet a better place to live in... We are thankful that we have friends from the media who also took notice of our efforts and we thank them for letting us be heard... We are thankful for the other riding groups, regardless of bike genres, who also fostered their kindness and generosity to us... We want you all to know that we appreciate each and every one of you... Today,TROPA is officially YEAR ONE, and we hope, our years as a group will be like a mathematical equation for a future value of a number with infinite compounding, a perpetuity... Whats cool about TROPA is that we are beyond the name, beyond a biking group, we have something even better, and thats friendships, and even if biking groups dissolve, we have friendships to keep, and we look forward to making more in the years to come... Ladies and gentlemen, kids of all ages, your friendly neighborhood Tuklip Riders of Pampanga is celebrating a year of unfolding... #OneLoveTROPA
