FB에서도 비슷한 수작을 걸어오는 경우가 간혹 있지만 우편물을 통해서도, 이메일을 통해서도 비슷한 요청이나 제안이 온다. 이메일을 통해서 걸어오는 가장 잦은 수작의 내용인즉 자기가 아프리카 왕족인데 유산을 미국으로 옮겨오는 일을 도와주면 총액의 반절을 주겠다는 식의 유혹이다. 결국은 소셜번호와 은행 account number 등 개인정보를 알아내려는 수순인 것이다. 일전에는 아래와 같은 내용의 이메일을 받았다. John Seiden이라는 친구는 유태계 미국인인데 비지니스로 만나서 여러햇 동안 알고지내는 사이다. 이메일 내용은 당근 거짓이다. 문제는 어떻게 이런 정보를 알아내어 이런 수작을 걸어오는지 참으로 알 수가 없다.ㅎ Hope you get this on time!!! Im writing this with great grievance, I am sorry if i am inconveniencing you with this but i just had to send this message to you due to an unforeseen circumstance that i encountered. I came down here to (Istanbul Turkey) for a short vacation but unfortunately for me i had an accident of which i dislocated my right arm and my head got bruised. The driver of the cab passed on due to internal bleeding and the injuries he sustained on his head. I have not been able to reach any one due to the fact that my cell phones,credit cards and some valuable document were all missing after the accident, i have been to the embassy, The embassy has just issued me a temporary passport the police here are not helping issues at all and am having problems paying for my hospital and settling the hotel bills, the hotel manager wont allow me leave until i settle the bills and my flight leaves in few hours from now.I really need your financial assistance.
