***FIRE UPDATE as of 5/16/14, 9:45 AM*** Dear parents and students: All Carlsbad Unified Schools are closed on Friday, May 16th. School is expected to resume on Monday, May 19th. Despite some news reports to the contrary, no CUSD schools suffered any damage in the fires. We will update you if there are any new developments. All CIF events are canceled for today and tomorrow including practices. Carlsbad High will send a separate communication regarding any athletic events scheduled to take place on Saturday. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Please accept our apology for any lack of internet and voice connectivity across the district. We are working to remedy this, but in the mean time cannot receive calls or email. Dear CUSD Staff, Once again thank you for your patience and support throughout the fire emergency. Again our thoughts are with those who have been directly affected. At this time we have determined that in light of our continuing lack of power, internet, and telephone service, that we will release most staff of their obligations tomorrow, as follows: All Certificated, non-management staff (teachers) need NOT report Only the following Classified Staff are directed to report as follows: All Custodial, Maintenance, and Grounds staff are directed to report to Carlsbad High School at 8:00 AM to be deployed. All Food Service Leads are directed to report to their sites at 8:30 AM. All District Office IT staff should check with Rick Lewis for direction. Other staff will be contacted directly, as needed. School is expected to resume on Monday. Thank you again to all of our amazing staff! ***Anyone interested in volunteering to support the fire relief should dial 211.
