This will be THE place to spill the beans, vent your spleen, and dont let those bustards get away with it - whatever it happens to be. Were interested in hearing from as wide a cross section of people as possible. Through it all, folks may even gain a better understanding of other cultures and that can only promote peace in the end, even if it rankles a bit at first. Marc called a few hours ago and didnt even ASK me IF I wanted to do a frequent podcast for In the Fire from 10pm-midnight CST. No - he played dirty pool and said he wanted me to do it, by now knowing full well that I lack the heart or sense to turn him down. Not fair to take advantage of the weak-minded, man! What the aitch do I know about radio production or performance? About as much as the teabaggers know about governance. Meaning you could take the whole ball of wax and squeeze it down to the size of a green pea. Now strangely enough, performing onstage before a live audience never scared me a bit - maybe for the same reason, a profound lack of good sense or self preservation, what-have-you. But the venue hes talking about is completely different - 1) doing a radio podcast never so much as crossed my mind before and 2) Murica cause Benghazi, thats what! Anyway, if I cant figure some way to wimp out first, we could be looking at my baptism by fire sometime late next month. Politicians wont be the only ones with their feet to the heat, because every rotten and stupid thing I ever did in my life already threatens to come back in my mind to haunt me; I can already hear Karma whispering in my ear, and nobody needs to tell me what a Queen B she can be. So for now lets try to deflect attention away from me and get on with the shows theme: call ins from around the globe with stories about what your elected officials have been up to, good or otherwise. Make sure you use real names for legitimately public figures ONLY - we dont need lawsuits and wouldnt want to bother private citizens even if we could. But politicians sign on for a certain amount of sharp elbows in the first place, and We the People are duty bound to hold their feet to the fire. When it comes to American partisan politics, I promise faithfully to be just as fair and balanced as Fox - which basically means not at all. Opposing views will be tolerated w/o challenge only to the point where Im about to puke, and no farther. This will ensure either a mercifully brief career in radio or it may prove golden, we cant know until we get there. So gather round, friends, vultures, and buzzards alike, and lets see what happens when Ms. Big Mouth has to deliver or die. Whether that makes for good radio or not remains to be seen - but it will be organic and real. Maybe even funny as hell, who knows. It was really nice knowing you folks.
