“Fearlessness is the first requisite of spirituality. Cowards - TopicsExpress

“Fearlessness is the first requisite of spirituality. Cowards can never be moral.” Mahatma Gandhi It is worthy of note to put on record that the church has made very significant contribution to the development of the societies in which they function and Kato is no exception. It is however, sad that most church leaders (Clergy) today have assumed the place of God and have become very selective and judgemental to the hypocritical extent of denying people access to the presence of God as a result of the fear of men which is the hallmark of carnality. They are gripped by the desire to please others. They spend their time dancing around such idol, expending all their energy catering for their every whim and seeking to avoid their wrath. Pastors reduced to Men-pleasers .They would never dare question their exalted idol, no matter how respectfully. If the leadership of the church of God will reject, condemn, exclude and fail to listen and accommodate, then the love of God is not shed abroad in their hearts. Because, ‘LOVE’ invites the church to seek out and serve all who so display the presence of God in their work and lives, the real Christians who may never choose to enter a church building. The church by that same virtue of love, is to cease to its judgemental commentary about people’s lives and aspire to become a place of UNCONDITIOANL ACCEPTANCE. The pastor of the Presbyterian church of Ghana Kato and the entire leadership of the church should bow their heads in shame. They are real hypocrites who are simply selective and men-pleasers. They always play God and issue dictates that are morally questionable and spiritually flawed. Their bane is rejection, judgemental, condemnation and saying NO to those they consider as unworthy to come before God and even to worship among them, placing a burden of guilt on their backs and does very little to heal them. The cracks among the traditional rulers of the Kato community is an undeniable fact and I am without a shred of doubt on my mind that the church perhaps on a number or singular occasion found a need to say a prayer to that effect. God being so good in an answer to the prayers of the many including theirs has put in place an authority, for the good book says there is no such authority apart from that which is established by God. The installation has been not without opposition and attempts by a few for his reign not to see the light of day. Sadly, the leadership of the Kato Presbyterian church has allowed themselves to be used by these self-seeking individuals. If the Leadership of the church can decide at a session meeting not to allow the new chief to come to the church for his thanks-giving service, and the Pastor himself who should have known better will lead a delegation to the palace of Nana Amankonah Febiri II and communicate same to him, then I pause to ask Who gave them that authority to determine who is worthy and right to come before God with thanks-giving in his mouth? Will they have the moral right to stop a perceived armed-robber who comes to church to give thanks to God for his life? And again, Is the church not a made up individuals who make up the community who pay tithe and gives offering to them? On the 7th of April, 2013 Rev Dr Kwabena Oyuni-Frimpong at the 91st presbytery conference in Kumasi intimated ‘’The Presbyterian Church of Ghana had extended its outreach programmes to traditional authorities to help the church liaise effectively with traditional authorities’’ has this come to the attention of the leadership of the Kato congregation? If yes then the national leadership should know they are been let down by these canal crop of men and women who call themselves leaders. They must understand that, although men are masters of themselves, before God we are stewards, who must render an account of our works. The church is to uphold the solidarity and brotherhood of all men and of all people. The ultimate reason for authority is for the common good of all men hence if it deviates from the common good, to be selective, side-lining and oppressive then, the devil himself is at work. My sources indicates that an unseen hand manipulated the Pastor and his leaders and that same hand, attempted same with the Pastor of the Methodist church where the thanks-giving service was eventually held but this time round, failed miserably unlike the success chopped with the canal, frail men who are spiritually bankrupt and seek to judge people by what they can see. Their gods are their bellies they are empty and hypocrites. END OF PART ONE.
