February 1977 was the date on this Jingle Magazine issue. At 21, life was much simpler and all of my colleagues were as equally idealistic, cocky and dreamy-eyed as I was. I vaguely remember this interview but now realize its probably the first time a writer deemed me noteworthy to be featured in an article. Looking back, I remember that I had made 1985 as my target and deadline within which to win an Oscar Award for best movie score. I of course missed my target but am smiling now at the thought that I was capable of conjuring up such a seemingly impossible, nay improbable dream. One must always have ones dream that makes waking up everyday an exciting proposition. You may as well dream big because even if you miss out, you will have gotten halfway at being a better version of yourself.
