First, I think this is pretty amazing that other people know anything at all about the shape of our borders and can label them, considering I would totally suck at labeling Europe. Like, it would be a travesty. I could probably freehand draw the state borders and place the capitols and draw and label interstates and major landmarks - but I would get maybe 8 or 9 countries in europe named properly. I dont understand UK/Britain/England/Scotland/Whales/Ireland or which parts overlap or why there seems to be multiple names for some of those. Second, I think its amazing that everybody in the world I ever meet has heard of Texas, and can usually point it out - this seems to confirm it. In fact, of the states, it seems that everyone has heard of Texas, New York and California and NO ONE recognizes New Mexico as the name of a state. Its nearly impossible to have that conversation with people, my brother lives in New Mexico inevitably gets really confusing and ruins the conversation. Third, it cracks me up when people associate celebrities to locations.
