First, a big thank you to anonymous for the 200mb that appeared! It now also enables me to give thanks for other things. Tonight we were totally humbled. Just over a month ago I received an email from a lovely young lady from Table View High, to ask if we would like to attend their TVHS Fashion Show, as they have selected us as the NPO to assist on that night. Tonight was that night. What we did not realize was that all proceeds for this event, is for Boyes Helping Hands. They dedicated this night for us. A huge amount of hard work went into this evening, hours, days, weeks of practice, organization, effort, and tonight we got to watch the most amazing Fashion Show, talent, and enjoyed ourselves so much, my hands still have pins and needles from all the clapping. Every now and again I jumped out of my seat, when the slide show on the side walls had this sign "ALL PROCEEDS OF TONIGHTS FASHION SHOW GO TO BOYES HELPING HANDS Feeding Scheme and Community Assistance", and I go "Hey, thats us"! Totally humbled, so thrilled, excited, happy. We felt very privileged to be there, and proceeds, when received, will be used to buy foodstuffs for Parkview Primary School. Waldy Kastoor, tell Auntie Tillie to stand at the ready, she is in for a surprise :-) Thank You Father, for favour, for allowing us to see that hard work and dedication, and most importantly, faith, pays off. Our Charity Shop may be hanging on a thread, but I havent given up yet, we have not come this far, to give up, not when God is showing us the harvest for our labour. Running an NPO is not easy, it is extremely hard, there is little funding and much need, little assistance yet much demand for help, few volunteers but much work. Yet no matter how tired I sometimes feel, the joy and happiness we feel when we see needs met, far outweighs any of the negatives. Tonight, knowing that there will be money to buy foodstuffs to feed a school in need, has given me a warm and fuzzy feeling, a feeling of contentment, an "all is well" feeling, because we must be doing something right! Its things like this that give us the energy and motivation to push through, to carry on, because we know there is still so much we can do, with the help of our Lord God, nothing is impossible. Amen.
