First of all, let me thank everyone for the well wishes. I was overwhelmed. Of course, everyone is asking me what happened but since it is very hard to type right now, let me give the full story here once. First of all, I was riding my bicycle, not a motorcycle but later I will change the story to include a biker gang and aliens so it sounds more manly. :) I was sprinting on the bike at about 21 mph in the bike lane on a track in Waterford. This was part of my plan to lose weight. Anyway, this guy was not paying attention and stepped in front of me. I veered to miss him and the thin road bike tire got caught in the rut between the asphalt and the grass. I went over the handle bars and landed on my right shoulder, arm, hand on the asphalt. It certainly hurt but it was not horrible. The couple stopped and helped me and I got back on my back and rode almost another 5 miles. During the evening, the pain got much worse in multiple places but I refused to go to the ER. Lindsay now lovingly calls me Admiral Dumbass :} Anyway, we went to the Urgent Care Clinic. I fractured the upper head of my radius. As the doctor put it, my x-ray looks like someone was splitting logs lengthwise. I also bruised my ribs and clavicle. Sneezing sucks. Add in a few other bruises and minor abrasions and that sums it up. I am seeing an orthopedic surgeon Monday to see if the break needs any hardware. This morning, the swelling and pain are very intense. In my experience, narcotic pain killers do not really alleviate my pain and they make me nauseous so I am trying to avoid them. My biggest frustration though is I cannot lift my camera for the next 1-3 months :) I have to type left handed as well. Anyway, thanks to everyone who checked up on me.
