Folks, I have an Android device that we are using for testing at work. Unfortunately there is a defect in the screen and it needs to be swapped out. Naturally being an iOS user, I am accustomed to an experience where all of my old data and apps (in their exact states from the old device with all data) simply just appear when I swap out devices. I have learned that universally for every function this is not true with Android. I have read about backing up to your computer via USB (dragging and dropping the whole file system). I have also ready about all of the third party apps that I could download to take care of backing up my apps and data one feature at a time. Frankly, these options suck. I dont want to invest a couple of hours hunting and pecking for apps and services to backup specific aspects of my device.... then go and restore data piecemeal. Isnt there a magic button I can hit where Google will just restore my damn device? Sound off. Tell me how it is done (seriously would appreciate suggestions)! Apparently to Google giving users choice in how they do things is an analogy for not having that feature baked
