Follow us for more USEFUL information, Follow the tips below to extend your iPhone battery life: 1. Regardless of whether or not you use it, the shelf life of a lithium battery is only about 3 years. After this time, it will start to decay quickly. Another factor that can affect its life is the number of full cycle charges they are subjected to. A full cycle charge is when it is charged from 20% or under all the way up to max. A standard lithium battery can undergo about 500 full cycle charges before it starts to degrade. 2. Lithium batteries are also susceptible to overheating, especially during charging. If your iPhone doesn’t dissipate heat very well, it can help to remove the case while it’s charging to give it a better airflow. If you’re not going to be using the battery for a long time, it’s a good idea to charge it to 50% and then leave it in a refrigerator (but don’t freeze it!). 3. Don’t wait until your battery is completely depleted to charge it! This can speed up the rate at which the battery decays. Low power levels cause lithium batteries to lose their remaining charge quickly, but it will last longer if you keep it around 40% - 60% (that’s why Battery Doctor always reminds you to charge your iPhone). This is almost impossible for users who use their phones often. A better alternative is to do a full cycle charge each month. Battery Doctor will detect if you have done full cycle charge every month and remind you if you haven’t. 4. Some people think that using your phone while it’s charging will slow down the charging speed, but actually this is not true. An iPhone contains 2 circuits - one is for charging, the other is for providing electricity to your battery. Part of the reason why charging becomes slower is because the device uses too much electricity. This is more obvious when charging with a USB connection. It’s actually a good thing for a lithium battery though, as it doesn’t produce too much heat and is good for the battery life. However, you should avoid playing games or undergoing other high consumption activities while charging, as this both drains power and produces large amounts of heat. Both will significantly reduce your battery life. We suggest you keep Batter Doctor open while charging to record your charging status and to avoid overcharging.
