For All My Veteran Friends: Today is not just another Federal holiday between Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. Veteran’s Day is our special day to be honored; to remember our service and sacrifice; and to celebrate the fact that we are still here to remember it! To be a Veteran is to be something special. We all served and sacrificed for our country and our fellow citizens, serving in many capacities all over the globe, in all of our armed services. We survived wars, enemies, and even our own countrymen. In return for our service, some have been thanked, some spit on, and some even forgotten by their countrymen. Yet we still love our country, honor our comrades-in-arms, and remain proud of our service. Yes, to be a veteran is to be someone special and a member of the world’s most exclusive community. Being a veteran transcends borders, cultures, religious beliefs, and colors. Yet, only a veteran can fully understand and appreciate its true meaning. Take time today to remember some of those brothers in arms you served with. Thanks for standing up when it counted and serving your country.
