For Baltimore Ravens left tackle Michael Oher, it really is a bad time for a contract year. Since the start of the 2009 season, Oher has led all players in the NFL in penalties with 43, and has shown inconsistent hand placement in every game. There are some plays where Oher looks great, and others which makes you wonder why he is a starting right tackle in the NFL. Oher simply lacks technique. He tends to let defenders rush into his body at the point of attack, which pretty much allows defenders to crash down on running plays or push him right into Joe Flacco which is the main reason why he could never hold the starting left tackle position. The fact of the matter is that this is Oher’s last season with the Ravens. When you see how pathetic this offensive line has looked this year, how can you possibly offer any player along the unit any type of money? Left tackle Eugene Monroe is likely to stay, however, due to the trade made to acquire him from the Jacksonville Jaguars in the middle of the season. -The Raven Chronicles
