For all those looking to add more Oly skills to your repertoire, look no further! South Seattle CrossFit, under the watchful eye of USAW Sport Performance Level I Coach, Jennifer Sahlberg, will offer a 4 week Olympic Weightlifting Level 1 course, beginning Wednesday, November 5. The course will consist of (8) 60 & 90 minute sessions (4 of each) focusing on both the Snatch and Clean & Jerk movements. Classes will be from 730p-9p on Wednesday evenings and 9a-10a on Saturday mornings. Recognizing the last week will take place on Thanksgiving week (Wed, 11/26 and Sat, 11/29), Jen said she will offer make-up sessions the following week for those unable to attend over the Holiday weekend. Participants will be taken step-by-step through the progressions of each lift by Coach Jen. Athletes will learn the movements in detail, incorporate drills for each lift, and analyze their technique on video. In the course you will develop functional strength through the incorporation of squats, accessory work and movement complexes. Our Level 1 course is an introduction to weightlifting that anyone can benefit from. At the start of next year, we will follow the Level 1 course with a Level 2 course, which will be for more advanced lifters and anyone that has completed Level 1. Jennifer may assess anyone interested in Level 2 that did not participate in Level 1. This class will be capped at just 12 participants to maximize personal attention and time under the bar. Jennifer will provide an outline of what to expect for those interested. Cost is $125 per person. There is a sign-up area on the white board at the gym. You can comment to this post if further details needed and we will follow-up with you. This is a great opportunity to improve your Oly skills with plenty of individualized attention!!
