For the critics of the show, if you havent heard the interviews this week, its based on the real lives of Anthony Anderson and Kenya Barris. Kenya Barris is the Creator/Executive Producer and writer. Hes also a former writer on Girlfriends who hails from Inglewood, CA and married to a doctor. Anthony hails from Compton, and married with kids as well. Their upbringing was different from their kids who were born into a privilege and currently reside in neighborhoods as the only black family. So unwind and dont be uptight about a couple of brothers sharing their life experience through the tube with a show that just so happen to have the title BLACK-ISH.
