For those of you that are plagued with those endless telemarketing - TopicsExpress

For those of you that are plagued with those endless telemarketing calls (that is most of us) and you have Century Link as a carrier see the following instructions as to how to block them. A year ago Century told me there is nothing they could do to block calls. I kept after them until I found a technician that knew how to do this. We not only received 800 # calls, but call that showed the local Pizza House as the caller. This is called spoofing. For calls made using a number in your locale, answer the call and then hang up. Wait for a few minutes and then get a dial tone and hit *60 and follow the prompt. The prompt message is punch in #01# For calls made using toll free or long distance numbers answer the call, hang up and wait for a few minutes. Get a dial tone and then punch in *60#01# In both instances you will get a recording stating that number has been entered in your do not call registry. If you happen to get another call from the same number do as I stated above. Usually the first time takes care of the problem, but I did have to enter a number twice. Let me know how this works.
