The Museum relates 1,000 years of Polish Jewish Life. Attending the opening were Israel President Reuven Rivlin and Poland President Bronislaw Komorowski along with holocaust survivors. The exhibits theme is to show the rich history of 1,000 years of Jews in Poland and does not focus solely on the holocaust. Prior to World War 2 there were 3.3 million Jews in Poland, which was reduced to 300,000 by the Nazi genocide and today there are fewer than 30,000 Jews in Poland. The exhibit relies on documents, murals and touch screens to show the richness of the Polish Jewry history. Representatives of JRI-Polandwere at the opening of the Museum as one of the principal partners in the Information Centre of the POLIN Museum of History of Polish Jews. An agreement promoting research and education between JRI-PL and the Museum of History of Polish Jews was signed in April 2014.
