From far away in Australia I cant ever expect to fully understand what life has been like for my kin over the years but I do remember the pain imposed by Thatcher and her kind with the Poll Tax, Bed Tax etc and Im sure since then many more aspects of life have been made difficult for Scottish people by decisions made by Govts in London with little or no care for the very good ppl of Scotland. It seems to me that its a far better future as an independent Scotland who is in charge of its own destiny and not being dictated to by others who do not feel the effects of decisions bad as they may be! One thing is for sure there will be challenges ahead and some things may not always go right but you are far better in control of these things yourself than having others dictate! I wish all my family members and the great people of Scotland the very best as you face this once in a lifetime opportunity! I for one if given the chance would vote YES in a heartbeat! For that is the mark of the Scots of all classes: that he stands in an attitude towards the past unthinkable to Englishmen, and remembers and cherishes the memory of his forebears, good or bad; and there burns alive in him a sense of identity with the dead even to the twentieth generation.
