GARDEN SHARING WEEKEND - SATURDAY, 29 NOVEMBER 2014 I have to - TopicsExpress

GARDEN SHARING WEEKEND - SATURDAY, 29 NOVEMBER 2014 I have to be elsewhere today and I wont get time to write a lengthy posting for this weekend, so this is a little early. I feel a little guilty showing winter flowering plants when half the continent is submerged in snow, but it can either cheer you up or piss you off - your choice! I think the pond pictures will likely be the last of the season. We have some fall cleanup to do, then the spring will start in earnest. The flower image is a North African Algerian Iris stylosa. This is the first of the season where it flowers reliably from late November to the middle of February. Not only does it cheer ones soul but it also has a very gentle perfume to go with it. Even in the unlikely event that we have snow the plant always picks it self up, dusts itself off and starts all over again! Im hoping that we will have my garden book complete and available in the next couple of weeks. I will likely post an image of the cover next weekend. The content of the book will be the 36 year development of the garden as a work of art and its role in giving ideas and inspiration for my other artwork in porcelain and glaze paintings on PC Substrates. Images of the garden will be about 80%, images of the artwork inspired in some way by the garden will be about 20%. The title of the book is A POTTERS GARDEN. Have a good week.
