GOMBE THE NEXT FRONTIER As the Gombe State Government has - TopicsExpress

GOMBE THE NEXT FRONTIER As the Gombe State Government has announced the closure of all schools in the state due to the unexpected attacks in the state in Ashaka and Nafada, one is left to conclude that Boko Haram has opened a new front in their war against the Nigerian state. Against the usual war strategy of never battle an enemy on 2 fronts, Boko Haram is challenging the Authority of the Nigerian State on multiple fronts. From Borno to Yobe. Adamawa to Gombe. Boko Haram has advanced, renaming sovereign Nigerian territory and annexing territory for their self proclaimed republic. I find it strange the euphoria over the state Governments closure of all schools in the state. This is as good as declaring Boko Haram has won and acceding to their demands. Where is the 100million Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala collected from the international community when she went cap in hand begging Europeans to donate funds to secure schools in Nigeria so that Boko Haram will not kidnap innocent children as they did to the Chibok girls? Diverted to more pressing organisations like TAN? It is high time we tell ourselves the truth. The Government of Nigeria is not ready to secure the rights of Nigerians. Education is a fundamental human right thus any being who hampers access to it is guilty of A crime against humanity. Since Nigerian troops can not secure schools to provide a conducive environment for learning, a civilian militia must be raised and armed to drive back the haramists. This is the only way forward for now. For the idle children sent home today will become the devils workshop and will be drawn to join boko haram for lack of any thing better to do. Nigeria has the personnel and resources to beat Boko Haram on all fronts. It is only a strong forceful leadership that is lacking.
